Sister Cities with plenty to offer for the tourist.

Only 30 minutes away of Siguatepeque by a well maintained paved road are sister cities La Esperanza and Intibucá. They offer a wide variety of attraction to tourists from all around the world.

With an altitude of one mile over sea level, (1,600 m.) both cities enjoy one of the coldest climates in Honduras. The line between these cities is a crisscrossing street, which the passerby goes across to go from one city to the other.

There is one Parque Central shared by the 2 cities and each one has its own colonial church. Intibuca is the oldest town since it was founded by the Lenca People, whereas La Esperanza was founded by Spaniards descendents in late XVII century.

There is a wonderful view of the sister cities and the surrounding mountains from El Mirador hill. It also boasts the famous Inmaculada Concepción grotto, house of the same name catholic virgin.
